407 ETR Fees to Increase February 1, 2019

Many find driving the 407 ETR a time saver and, according to the 407 ETR, it can save a commuter from 20 – 60 minutes per trip, if you’re willing to pay for the kilometres driven. Also announced by the 407 is the increase in annual trips on the roadway from 71.9 million per year in 1999 to over 125 million per year in 2017.

Over the last year the 407 ETR has completed upgrades to the roadway that includes;

  • Updating its roadside technology
  • Adding new bridges
  • Adding new lands in the east-end
  • Resurfacing many kilometres

Now a fee increase is on its way February 1, 2019. These fees can vary depending on length of trip, the zone your travel, time of day, and other factors.

The increase in fees include the “New Camera Charges”. Those fees are up from $4.15 per entry to $4.20. The annual transponder lease fee is up $1.00 per year from $23.50 to $24.50 for light duty vehicles. Though the most notable increase is in the kms driven and the zones.

Reminder to our valued customers, when renting a vehicle and using the 407 ETR, the fees, including the non-transponder fee, toll fee, trip charge, and an administration fee will be added to your rental contract.
