Are there any age restrictions to rent a vehicle?Yes, you must be 21 years of age or older to rent a vehicle from Bristol. What do I need to rent a vehicle?You must present a valid driver's licence and a major credit card, both in your name, in person at our rental counter. Can I rent a vehicle with a pre-paid credit card or my debit card?No. You must present a regular Visa, Mastercard or American Express card at time of rental as security. Upon return you are welcome to pay for the rental on your debit card or pre-paid credit card. Do you accept G1 and G2 licences?We do accept a G2 licence, however we are unable to rent to G1 licence holders. Will I be charged if I'm late returning the rental vehicle?We offer our customers a 59 minute grace period on all car rentals. After the grace period, a minimum $10 per hour charge applies, until you reach the daily rate. All truck rentals are subject to a $50 per hour late fee. Do you offer one-way drops?Yes, we offer one-way drops between our Bristol locations for a small fee. Check with the originating rental location for details. Can I drop the vehicle off at Toronto’s Pearson Airport?Yes, when you’ve made prior arrangements with the rental branch. We offer a vehicle drop off service at a parking authority just minutes away from the terminals. There is a fee for dropping at the airport depending on which city you rented your vehicle from. Please inquire directly with the rental branch for rates and details. Can I leave the province or Canada with the rental vehicle?Yes. Please let us know at time of rental pick up, so we can add the appropriate coverage to your rental agreement. A nominal daily fee will apply. What is the fuel policy?All renters are responsible for the cost of refueling. We recommend you refuel the vehicle within 5 kms of the rental branch and present your fuel receipt upon return to avoid any refueling charges from Bristol. Can anyone else drive my rental vehicle?Yes, as long as they have presented their driver’s licence to us at the rental counter, and are added to your rental agreement as an additional driver. Spouses are free to add to the rental contract, all other drivers will be subject to an additional driver fee. Can I extend the duration of my rental?In most cases, yes, extending your rental is a simple as a phone call to the rental branch. The phone numbers are all listed on our location page. What should I do if I’m involved in an accident?First be sure to contact any emergency services if injuries are involved. If not, contact the police to complete an accident report and immediately. Be sure to collect as much information from all parties involved in the accident. Then contact the rental office for further instructions. Does Bristol offer Loss Damage Waiver?Yes, in fact, we have several options to choose from depending on the coverage YOU are comfortable with. Does Bristol offer coverage options besides basic LDW to protect me while I’m driving the rental vehicle?Yes, we offer Platinum Plus coverage to all of our car rental customers.

What if I get a parking ticket, a red light ticket or drive on the 407 Electronic Toll Road?The renter of the vehicle is liable for all parking tickets, traffic violations and 407 ETR driving. Once we receive the violation or toll charge in the mail we will pay it immediately on your behalf to reduce incurring any rising ticket costs. We will then bill your credit card for the ticket amount, plus an administration charge.
